First Cooking Lesson

I had my first cooking lesson today.

We made oatmeal cookies- kind of a bummer

that I couldn't taste my work!

Auntie Brittney and Uncle Bo

This weekend was a lot of fun.

Auntie Brittney and Uncle Bo came into town to meet me!

The Doc

I went to the pediatrician's office again today.

I am now 8lbs 12 ounces

I sure have grown!

The doctor said I was holding my head up really well

and that I was very alert and focused my eyes great for my age!!!

Hi Nonnie!

This weekend I got to meet Nonnie for the first time!

(Nonnie is our way to pronounce "nonna" which is Italian for Grandma)

Cousins!

Cousins sure are fun!

My cousins have 5 boy cousins and I am their very first girl cousin so you

can imagine how excited they are :)

(my pediatricain appointment got rescheduled for Monday morning- so be sure to check back then to see how much I have grown!)

Found One

I finally found a pacifier that I like.

Just in time for a big day tomorrow-

I go back to the pediatrician for a check up and to see

how much I have grown. I know I look pretty big in these

pictures but I am still a little peanut. Most of my clothes don't even fit me yet!

The other fun thing happening tomorrow night is that my cousins, aunt, and nonnie are coming into town to meet me!!

Quote of the week.....

Gotta love the honesty that comes with having kids around. This is what Joshua was noticing in the mornings this week.... this exact conversation happened twice.

J: "Mommy what is wrong with your hair?"
M: "What do you mean?"
J: "It looks funny. Why?"
M: "Well, I just haven't done it yet today."
J: "Mommy I don't like it. Can you go fix it?"


For the record, the above mentioned hair was showered and washed, just pulled back into a ponytail!

my bedding is! After a little more shopping, some decorating, and a

change in paint and my nursery will be ready to roll.

WHAT"S IN A NAME?

2 and a half years of yearning for another little one have been worth every moment to get to where we are today. This last week we have been awed at God's goodness and the way that he has been alongside us every moment of this journey. Today we get to present Kayla Lynn as part of our family and have enjoyed the day of phone calls and visits! I wanted to be sure to share the wonderful significance of her name and how it came to be. Her middle name was what we picked first and it has the most special meaning to us. Lynn comes from Brooklynn- the wonderful young woman who nurtured and cared for her for 9 months, and who loves her above all else. Kayla came along a few days later and we selected it because it means "who is like our God?" We have been immeasurably blessed to have the privilege to raise this beautiful girl. She has absolutely stolen our hearts.

Here I am tucked into bed all swaddled up like a little baby burrito.
My little bassinet keeps me nice and close to everyone.
I am even a good little sleeper..........well most of the time :)

He's Silly!

Josh and I were having a little hang out time when I started getting hungry. I was moving my mouth and tounge around so he started to do the same thing. Just look at my expression- I am trying to figure out what in the world this silly boy is doing!

On the Road Again

I made it out for my second car ride today!

So far, so good- all I have done is sleep through them.

I have been quite alert today, which really takes alot
out of a gal. Time for some milk and a little nap....

A Great Start
